BECOMING International

INKISH on its way to become a global 'player' in the print-media industry

A year ago I spoke with a friend about being an international film-channel (INKISH.TV), and he looked me, and said: "You are not a global media, you a small Danish media making film from many different places in English - that doesn't make you international!"

He was right, that doesn't make us or any other global. I had to re-define my perception of being global, and now we are working on becoming a global player. I will explain why a bit later, but first. What does it mean (to us) to be global?

First it means that we work on becoming part of the local print industies. We want to be as much Danish, as German, as Italian, etc. Stories are not better or more interesting because they are natively in English, so we also now produce films in any language. However, we do understand that language is a barrier in understanding.

We therefore always transcribe and subtitle all non-english films. But that isn't enough. All films should be understandable in as many languages as we can handle and right now we are experimenting with both subtitles and voice-overs.

Below you can see the same film with 7 different subtitles from Russian, Hindi, Chinese, English, German, Italian, and Spanish. In the future you will of course not see 7 different films, but just pick the language you prefer - but this is to showcase what we are working on.

The language options will be a paid-for-additional service to the people/companies presented.

Both INKISH.TV and INKISH.NEWS we will have 'Country Pages' that consist of some nice representative photos, and a short description of the country.

Every time we announce a new partner in a specific country, there will be a country page, and content will become available with either subtitles or voiceovers. For films and stories made in this particular country these will always be subtitled in English enabling everybody to get a level of understanding.

Below you can see an example of a film we made in New Jersey with printing company 'Command Digital' with Italian subtitles.

Each country page will contain links to Print-Media in a country and will be displayed with a logo, company name, links, contact details, etc. In our opinion, this is a great source of information for everybody. Similar we do with organizations/federation, and finally, a local map of the country with 'pins' for all registered printers will give vendors, print-buyers, etc. access to the industry.

Media and federations will be publicly visible upon registration on INKISH.TV or INKISH.NEWS. Printers will be registered through the federations/organizations, and these will decide whether to include data on INKISH as part of their service to their members. There will be a nominal cost for the federations to add their users to our service.
