LabelExpo Europe 2019

Brussels, September 24th to 27th 2019

LabelExpo is one of the major global events in the printing industry, and with a dedicated focus on labels+, (one of the fewer growing markets in the printing industry), LabelExpo is able to attract a lot of exhibitors and visitors. 600 exhibitors have found their way to Brussels, and to be honest I look forward to the event. I don't look forward to Brussels crazy traffic, extremely high prices on accommodation, and an expo center that is - well, not the greatest.

Looking at the interactive floor plan, you'll see a mix of hardware, software, and of course, substrates, consumables, etc. The promise from the organizer is quote: "Keep ahead of your competitors, drive costs down and improve efficiency, offer value-added services, attract new clients, enter new high-value niche markets, improve supply chain management, optimize workflow and reduce press downtime, and finally operate in an environmentally sustainable way."

This is quite a promise, and to some extent point on one of the general challenges in the exhibitions industry. The promises made to the visitors is what everybody wants to achieve, but when you ask visitors in general, this is not what they get. When an organizer promise these attractive benefits they set the bar, but they are giving a promise they can't control. The delivery of these promises are solely promises, the exhibitors can deliver upon and since a show like LabelExpo attract such a broad audience, not all will be able to deliver.

At the LabelExpo Europe 2017 close to 38.000 visitors attended the show, and of course, most guests and visitors had a positive experience since they choose to come back again. However, according to the LabelExpo website 2019 has a lower number of visitors compared to 2017 - down from 679 to 600.

In the report from LabelExpo Europe 2017 linked to above, exhibitors are quoted with statements like, Danielle Kinsella, Hamillroad Software: “Labelexpo Europe 2017 was our chosen platform to launch Bellissima Digitally Modulated Screening to the world of flexographic printing. We couldn’t have wished for a more successful launch, we had well over 500 visitors to the stand...Labelexpo was a fantastic launch event for us and we met with the right people across the board from brand owners, trade-shops, and printers. A huge success!”

So regardless of the changes also in the exhibition industry I believe many exhibitors and visitors have great expectations for the LabelExpo Europe 2019 that takes place in Brussels September 24th to 27th.

INKISH will cover the event, so we hope you will tune into INKISH.TV during the periode.
